What we do
The surplus generated by the pawn operations of the Nacional Monte de Piedad is used to give grants to other private charitable institutions, to broaden and increase the social charitable services in Mexico. We invite all the private charitable institutions in the country to present their projects and needs through an open call for donations. We can support all assistance services nationwide. The projects are evaluated using a methodology that includes an institutional assessment as well as a project assessment.
Using the “Resources Assignment Model” (MAR according to its Spanish acronym) we issue a proposal that supports the donation decision making process. The proposal is reviewed by the Assistance Actions management, the Assistance Actions Committee, and the Board of Trustees. The main challenge is to balance the charity supports with the positive changes created in the society.
