Work as a volunteer
If you have service vocation and would like to dedicate time to help others, there are many institutions that need you. You can contribute in many ways, since they not only require personnel for assisting the beneficiaries, but also for management, accouting, IT, fundraising, etc.
Here are some resources you can use to look for volunteering opportunities:
On the Internet: “Haces Falta” ( www.hacesfalta.org.mx ) is a site operated by CEMEFI. Here you will find a list of job opportunities (as a volunteer or as an employee) throughout the country.
The organization called “Idealistas” (www.idealist.org ) is an international organization that offers volunteering opportunities in Mexico and in other countries.
-If you are a student you can do your social service in a charitable institution thus helping it to strengthen its administrative structure or to improve services. Ask in your school or contact an institution directly.
-Visit the web page of the institution. Many institutions announce employment and volunteering opportunities there.
-Visit the web page of your state social welfare board. You can find it in the web page of your state’s government or in the web page of the federal government.
- Approach an institution. Not all the institutions have a web page, but you can find one in your state or interest area in the “to learn more” section.
