The Nacional Monte de Piedad is a non profitable Private Welfare Institution which has its own legal personality. It has embraced the task of helping others through social welfare and humanitarian activities.

Our main goals as a pawn shop and a social welfare institution are, on one hand to provide immediate cash through pawn loans with the lowest interest rate, in order to help those who have urgent financial needs. And, on the other hand, to use the surplus of the financial operation to support social welfare projects through other Private Assistance Institutions which offer their help in the health, education and protection areas to children, young, old and sick people who don’t have enough financial resources.

In 2009, this Great National Pawn Shop, will help more than 7 million families and will make an average of 24 million loans, lending a total amount of 19 billion* pesos.
